Recognition
Did you know that Star Alliance was the first airline alliance to introduce top tier benefits to its frequent flyers, right across the network? Star Alliance Gold and Silver customers are able to earn miles or points wherever they travel - and also expect their status to be recognised.
A prerequisite for recognition is for status customers to receive the expected Star Alliance benefits whenever they travel. This is particularly important when they travel on a member airline other than their "home" carrier, as the power of Star Alliance lies in the fact that the Star Alliance benefits can be enjoyed anywhere on the network. In addition to this, some airlines address Gold status customers by name, to make them feel more special and more recognised.
