As one of the world's largest and most prestigious airlines, Lufthansa currently flies to 165 destinations in 73 countries on 4 continents. In the 2015 business year, the airline welcomed around 80 million passengers on board its flights. Headquartered in Cologne and with hubs in Frankfurt/Main, Munich and Dusseldorf, Lufthansa employs more than 55,000 people. As an industry innovator, Lufthansa has long been committed to environmental care and sustainability, operating one of the most technologically-advanced and fuel-efficient fleet in the world. Carsten Spohr

Carsten Spohr was born in Wanne-Eickel, Germany, on December 16, 1966. He has been Chairman of the Executive Board and Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Lufthansa AG since May 1, 2014. In this role, he is responsible for the Lufthansa Group, which comprises the Passenger Airline Group, Logistics, MRO, Catering and IT Services segments and has around 117,000 employees worldwide.
