Kay Kratky

Kay Kratky was born on May 5, 1958 in Frankfurt. Between 1981 and 1996, Kratky flew as a first officer for Deutsche Lufthansa, 1996 he moved to Lufthansa Cargo as captain of a Boeing 747-200. Between 2000 and 2008, Kratky took on various management duties at Lufthansa Cargo (in addition to his aviation activities).

Between January 2008 and March 2011, Kay Kratky was General Manager of the freight airline Jade Cargo International in Shenzhen in southern China.

In April 2011 Kratky became a member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Board and was in charge of the “Operations & Hub Frankfurt” remit of Lufthansa German Airlines as of July 2013. As Chief Operating Officer (COO), he had overall operational responsibility for the airline.

Since August 1, 2015, Kratky belongs to the Executive Board of Austrian Airlines as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
