SWISS's first Boeing 777-300ER lands in Zurich

ZURICH, January 29 - SWISS today took delivery of the first of nine new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft and opened three new lounges in Zurich airport - twinning the two events as the kick-off for its new "Next-Generation Airline of Switzerland" strategy.

The three new lounges, for First Class, Business Class and Star Alliance Gold customers, are located in Terminal E and extend over more than 3,300 square metres. They each have access to a terrace with great views of the airport and the Swiss Alps beyond.

This new 777 intercontinental twinjet incorporates state-of-the-art technology, using much less fuel and emitting less carbon dioxide than comparable aircraft. The new SWISS flagship has a range of up to 14,500 kilometers and can carry 340 passengers. As part of the pre-launch activities, Swiss release a video featuring Ivan Szabo, Entry-Into-Service Programme Manager, which shows how a Boeing 777-300ER is built. Click here to see the video

SWISS Boeing 777-300ERs will be gradually deployed primarily on services to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Los Angeles, San Francisco, São Paulo and Tel Aviv.
