Air Serbia sets ‘solid foundation for continued growth’

Air Serbia has posted what it describes as “strong operational results” for 2015, increasing passenger and freight carriage. The figures do not include the carrier’s financial results, which are due in the next few weeks. The airline said its passenger numbers were up 11% to 2.55m compared to 2014, while cargo rose 39% to 3,756 tonnes. ASKs grew 3% to 3.65b, while passenger load factor rose 4% to 71%. Relatively low by standards elsewhere in Europe, North America or the Middle East, the load factor figure indicates the depths to which the carrier had fallen when it was still known as JAT Airways. Over the year, Air Serbia increased its connections for passengers by signing codeshare deals with Aegean Airlines, airBaltic, Air China, Air Europa and LOT Polish, taking the number of such agreements to 15. <br/>
