Air France pilots cancel June 24-27 walkout
Strike action planned by Air France pilots for June 24-27 has been canceled, although a national strike could still disrupt air traffic control services June 23. The walkout was over Air France’s mid-term fleet development and investment plan. Earlier action June 11-14 cost the French carrier over E40m (US$45.2m)—more than the cost of a mid-haul aircraft, Air France said. Even with the strike averted, Air France said there was still a risk of last-minute delays and cancellations June 23 because of the national strike. “The DGAC [French Civil Aviation Authority] gave instruction to all airlines not to adapt their flight schedule. Therefore, we plan to operate all our flights. Nevertheless, last-minute delays and cancellations can also be expected,” Air France said. <br/>
