ANA to open Narita-Phnom Penh route in September

ANA is ready to launch direct services linking Narita International Airport Tokyo and the capital of Cambodia on Sept. 1. ANA hopes that the direct flights to Phnom Penh will attract strong demand mainly from business users as an increasing number of Japanese companies are seen expanding into the rapidly growing Southeast Asian nation, sources said Monday. Japan’s biggest carrier plans to offer seven round-trip flights a week using the Boeing 787-8 midsize jet. No direct flight services currently connect the Tokyo area with Phnom Penh, and travellers need to transit at such cities as Seoul. The ANA flights from Narita will depart in the morning and arrive at Phnom Penh in the afternoon of the same day. The return flights will take off from Phnom Penh at night and land at Narita the following morning, the sources said.<br/>
