A JetBlue flight hit severe turbulence on Thursday evening, causing injuries to 22 passengers and two crew members. Flight 429 from Boston to Sacramento diverted and landed safely in Rapid City, South Dakota, where the injured were taken to hospital. Rapid City Regional Hospital said 24 people were treated and released with minor injuries. Passengers were reported saying the aircraft dropped suddenly and several people were thrown out of their seats, hitting overhead luggage bins. An unexpected tax burden dampened the otherwise healthy performance of Bangkok Airways in Q2. The SET-listed regional airline posted a net loss of 111.9m baht between April and June, reversing a 102.2m baht net profit recorded a year earlier. The Revenue Department's June 16 change in income tax calculation for tax privileges granted by the Board of Investment led the airline to pay 447m baht in additional taxes, president Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth said on Thursday.
