American Airlines reverses course, orders more testing on itchy uniforms
Fern Fernandez, VP of Global Marketing for American Airlines, has ordered a new round of tests on AA's new uniforms, which many employees say are causing hives, itching and headaches. Fernandez's order comes just days after he insisted that the new uniforms were fully tested and safe to wear. In a letter sent to some 80,000 American Airlines employees, Fernandez sought to address concerns that "a few flight attendants have said that our new uniforms have caused them to develop a rash or headache." The Association of Professional Flight Attendants said the number of employees complaining of health problems believed to be connected to the new uniforms had grown to more than 700 by Monday.<br/>
