SAP tech vet jumps to Qantas as CIO

Qantas Airways has hired SAP executive Susan Doniz as its new chief information officer, as it ramps up efforts to tap cloud computing, data analytics and other digital initiatives, the airline said. As CIO, Doniz will oversee group-wide IT, while working on digital initiatives for Jetstar and Qantas Loyalty. She replaces Luc Hennekens, who became CIO at Airbus in September. The move comes at a time when “digital change” is opening up new opportunities for airlines and passengers, and Qantas has a “long history of embracing new technology,” Doniz said. Qantas is currently working through a “wide-ranging digital transformation”, which includes an ongoing shift to cloud computing, the introduction of high-speed inflight Wi-Fi, new mobile tools and other services, the company said. <br/>
