Delta-Aeromexico execs appointed to lead JV

Delta Air Lines and Aeromexico have announced leadership changes as the two carriers move to establish a transborder joint venture between Mexico and the US. Delta VP-Seattle Mike Madeiros was appointed COO of Aeromexico and Delta VP-Latin America and the Caribbean Nicolas Ferri was named VP-Mexico and Aeromexico/Delta Joint Business. The move follows the two carriers’ acceptance in Dec 2016 of conditions demanded by the US DoT in its antitrust immunity ruling before the airlines could move forward with their planned JV. Delta and Aeromexico ultimately agreed to divest 24 slot pairs at Mexico City International and 4 slot pairs at New York JFK International.
