LOT Polish Airlines launches Los Angeles services

LOT launched 4X-weekly Warsaw-Los Angeles services April 3, its fourth North American destination and first route to the US west coast. LOT operates a Boeing 787-8 on the 6,500-mile route, the longest flight in its network. “There is already a massive number of passengers traveling from Los Angeles to Poland and other countries in Europe … Every year, we are observing an increasing number of people from the California region who visit us as tourists or on business,” LOT CE Rafal Milczarsk said. LOT recently announced additional summer 2017 destinations, including Newark, New Jersey, from April 28 and Krakow-Chicago O’Hare services in August. LOT plans to lease 3 Boeing 787-9s to further develop its long-haul fleet. Delivery of the first aircraft is expected in March 2018.
Air NZ's new seats up to 3cm wider on Airbus planes

Air NZ's new seats for planes joining its short haul international fleet are wider than existing ones and may help passengers stuck in the middle breathe a little easier. At the Aircraft Interiors Expo, the carrier revealed the seats made by Acro Aircraft Seating for Airbus A320/A321neo planes that are joining the fleet. The window and aisle seats will be 1cm wider than those on the airline's current international Airbus fleet, with the middle seat 3cm wider, which the airline says should achieve a better sense of personal space across the row. Currently seats are 45.4cm wide. New aisle and window seats will be 46.4cm wide and middle seats 48.6 wide. Seat pitch will remain at between 76cm and 86cm. There are currently seats for 168 passengers and the final configuration for the new planes has yet to be finalised.
