China Airlines upgrades aircraft on North American routes

China Airlines has introduced the Airbus A350 XWB on the Taipei Taoyuan-Vancouver, Canada route from Aug. 1. This means all North American destinations—including Los Angeles, New York JFK and San Francisco—are now operated by next generation aircraft including the A350-900 or Boeing 777-300ER. All 14 A350-900s are scheduled to be delivered in 2018. In addition to North America, China Airlines’ European destinations are also served by the two aircraft types, China Airlines chairman Nuan-Hsuan Ho said. The Taiwanese SkyTeam member will begin operating the A350s on the Taipei-Honolulu route from Oct. 29, as well as 4X-weekly Taipei-London Gatwick services. The A350 will also be placed on Taipei-Sydney flights from Dec. 1, which will increase to double-daily services.<br/>
