United Airlines CE responds to flight-attendants union boss' comments on sexual harassment

United Airlines CE Oscar Munoz Monday delivered a forceful message on the hot topic of the moment — sexual harassment — in a memo to more than 87,000 United employees. The memo came in the wake of a blunt op-ed piece in the Washington Post Sunday penned by Sara Nelson, the often outspoken international president of the Association of Flight Attendants. Nelson decried how the airline industry has over the years objectified female flight attendants for marketing purposes. Munoz applauded Nelson for raising her voice. Munoz also wrote that "when it comes to flight attendants, they have a special responsibility to serve all our customers while ensuring the highest levels of safety."
