Qantas dragged to court over insurance name dispute

Qantas Airways may be forced to re-brand its new insurance business after being dragged to court by an employment firm that claims the airline stole its name. The airline launched Qantas Assure in early 2016, selling health, life and income insurance as part of an effort to grow its loyalty arm and branch into new business areas. But the name has rankled Australian rehabilitation and employment services company Ingeus, which since 2002 has used the Assure brand to market employee mental health and wellbeing support services. Ingeus says Qantas' history of launching ventures with other companies - such as credit card and telco providers - means consumers could be confused into thinking the airline had partnered with Ingeus to provide its Qantas Assure product. <br/>
