Atlanta to LA-Area flight has emergency landing in Arkansas

An Atlanta-to-Los Angeles-area flight has made an emergency landing in Arkansas after a smoky odour was reported in the rear of the airplane. Delta Flight 1941 landed at Little Rock on Thursday and taxied to a gate. Airline spokesman Michael Thomas said that passengers were placed on another airplane to continue their trip to Orange County, California. The cause of the odor wasn't immediately known. The company cited a "possible maintenance issue." The plane also had a crew of six. Data from the flight-tracking site www.flightaware.com showed that the Boeing 757-200 was 50 km north of Little Rock and flying at 10,970m when it changed its course.
Air France suspends negotiations pending new management structure

Air France has urged unions to call off planned strikes as it promised measures to improve the daily lives of its staff, but warned no new pay negotiations would take place while it is still run by an interim management team. Air France-KLM is in the thick of a labour conflict over pay that so far has cost the company its former CEO Jean-Marc Janaillac as well as E400m following 15 strike days since February. Four more strike days are planned for June 23-26. “Air France management is calling on the inter-union association to lift its strike notice from June 23-26, which would worsen the company’s situation and have a major impact on our customers on the eve of the busy summer period,” the airline said after Air France and Air France-KLM non-executive chair Anne-Marie Couderc and Air France CEO Franck Terner presented new measures to the Air France Central Works Council on June 14.
