Delta Air Lines tops in on-time derby in difficult July
Delta Air Lines’ late rally in what was an especially difficult July gave the carrier a comfortable victory in the monthly on-time arrival derby among the nation’s 4 largest domestic carriers. That's according to results released Tuesday by OAG. July was especially bad for American Airlines and Southwest Airlines, two carriers that have struggled with their on-time performance in recent months. United Airlines, meanwhile, did a-okay, given the operational challenges it too faced in at least one key hub, New York City. Delta is no stranger to finishing first among the 4 largest carriers. And the carrier pulled off another victory in July with 81.8% of flights arriving on time. United finished July in a solid No. 2 position, with 77.2% of flights arriving on time. <br/>
