KLM gambles on Las Vegas in 2019

KLM plans to land in Las Vegas next summer with new flights from Amsterdam. The carrier will offer a thrice-weekly service between the cities, operated with 294-seat Boeing 787-9 aircraft, from 6 June 2019, it says. "Las Vegas will become KLM's 18th North Atlantic destination to be served directly," said CE Pieter Elbers. "Including Las Vegas as KLM's latest destination will offer our customers even more flight connections to and from the west coast of America." KLM has not served Las Vegas in the past, except this January with a few special frequencies scheduled for the Consumer Electronics Show, FlightGlobal schedules data shows. The airline's last new destinations in North America were Edmonton and Salt Lake City, which it added in 2015 and 2016, respectively. <br/>
