LOT Polish Airlines expands long-haul timetable
LOT plans to further increase long-haul operations, making use of its growing fleet of Boeing 787s. The carrier will start a winter-season service from Warsaw to the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo Nov 3, through March 28, 2020. The service will operate 3X-weekly using 3-class 787-9s. Colombo is the sixth Asian long-haul destination in the growing network of the carrier and its first seasonal winter service. LOT said Feb 22 that the flight time of around 9 hours to Colombo would be the shortest in duration for many European passengers. The airline decided on Sri Lanka because of what CE Rafał Milczarski described as “the very high tourist potential” of the Indian Ocean island, which receives more than 1.8m European tourists annually. <br/>
