Qatar Airways, Royal Air Maroc expand partnership

Qatar Airways is increasing its presence in Morocco with a new service to the nation’s capital of Rabat and an expanded joint business agreement with oneworld alliance partner Royal Air Maroc. Qatar Airways currently operates a 5X-weekly Boeing 777 Doha-Casablanca-Marrakech-Doha service, plus a 2X-weekly direct Doha-Casablanca link. On April 30, the carrier announced plans to add a 3X-weekly 787 Doha-Marrakech-Rabat service, beginning May 29. Royal Air Maroc operates a 5X-weekly Casablanca-Doha service, in partnership with Qatar, which will increase to daily from June 17. “Our close partnership with Royal Air Maroc will also provide our passengers access to their comprehensive network in North and West Africa, while enabling Royal Air Maroc passengers to enjoy seamless connectivity to Qatar Airways’ extensive global network,” Qatar Airways group CEO Akbar Al Baker said.<br/>

Emirates announces codeshare with LATAM Airlines

Emirates has announced a new codeshare partnership agreement with LATAM Airlines Brazil covering domestic services in the Latin American country. The new tie-up is expected to provide passengers with more options and better connectivity. Emirates passengers travelling to and from Brazil will now be able to connect with 17 cities in LATAM’s domestic network covered by the codeshare agreement including Belo Horizonte, Brasília and Foz do Iguaçu. Passengers travelling to or from these cities will now be able to connect seamlessly in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro with Emirates’ flights to its Dubai hub, which serves over 150 destinations worldwide. “The agreement will offer Emirates passengers more choice to travel to/from Brazil with minimum connection times to destinations in Emirates’ global network such as Japan, Australia and India amongst others,” the airline said.<br/>
