Long-time Delta Air Lines finance chief Paul Jacobson has called off his retirement plans as the company navigates the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic, which has hammered the airline industry. CE Ed Bastian said in a memo to employees that he asked Jacobson last week to reconsider his decision to retire. “I am happy to announce that Paul has agreed to rescind his retirement and continue as our executive VP and CFO,” Bastian wrote. The memo said Jacobson has decided to stay with the company for many years to come. Delta said in February that Jacobson, who has led the finance function since 2012, planned to retire and that he would stay on while the company searched for a successor. He has been with Delta since 1997. The spread of the coronavirus in the US upended those plans. <br/>
