Malaysia Airlines, Airbus renew widebody component MRO contract

Malaysia Airlines has extended its Flight Hour Services component MRO contract with Airbus, covering its fleet of widebodies. The multi-year contract, an outcome of the airline’s recently concluded restructuring efforts, will cover technical support provided by Airbus, for its fleet of A350-900s, A330s, as well as A330-200 freighters operated by cargo unit MASKargo. Airbus will provide component MRO services, which also include spare pool access, as well as on-site stock at the airline’s Kuala Lumpur base. On the partnership, Airbus Asia-Pacific president Anand Stanley says: “We are pleased to continue our close relationship with Malaysia Airlines with the extension of this Flight Hour Services agreement. Especially in these challenging times, Airbus strives to provide the highest quality, value-adding and tailor-made solutions to our airline partners to support them and enhance the daily operations of their fleet.”<br/>
