India’s low-cost airline IndiGo has reportedly entered into a codeshare alliance with Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the respective countries’ national carriers. Subject to the nod of the Government of India, the agreement is expected to become effective in February next year. As per the agreement, IndiGo customers will have access to Air France and KLM global network, which covers more than 250 destinations across the globe. The Air France and KLM network comprise 120 destinations in Europe and about 50 in the America. Additionally, the code share agreement with IndiGo is expected to benefit Air France and KLM customers, as they will have access to 25 new destinations in India.<br/>

The Hong Kong government ordered a two-week suspension of Korean Air Lines flights after some passengers tested positive for COVID-19, the airline said on Monday (Dec 27),. They had travelled from South Korea to Hong Kong, and tested positive for the coronavirus upon landing last week, according to Hong Kong's official news platform. The suspension will last until Jan 8. Korean Air, which runs flights between South Korea and Hong Kong three times a week, said it respects the entry regulations of the Hong Kong government. It also said that all passengers had tested negative when it had checked.<br/>
Vietnam Airlines is planning to resume regular international flights linking Vietnam with 15 countries and territories in the first half of 2022. The resumption will be carried out in two phases and depend on relevant agencies’ approval, Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported. In the first phase, scheduled to begin on Jan 1 next year and last for about two weeks, the national flag carrier will conduct round-trip flights between Vietnam and the United States, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. Each route will have one to four flights per week, and the frequency will gradually increase basing on passengers’ demand and anti-pandemic requirements. Meanwhile, the firm is set to reopen air routes connecting the country with the UK, France, Germany, Russia, Australia, Hong Kong (China), and Malaysia in the second phase.<br/>
