Korea Air ready to deploy eco-friendly Boeing 737-8 from next month

Korea Air Lines announced on Monday that its new aircraft Boeing 737-81 arrived at Gimpo International Airport on Feb. 13. The next-generation eco-friendly airplane will be put into service on Mar. 1 after various tests. The airliner plans to introduce six Boeing 737-8 units this year, based on its contract with Boeing Commercial Airplanes to purchase 30 737-8 aircrafts through 2028. Boeing 737-8 aircraft is eco-friendly, powered by two high-tech engines (CFM International LEAP-1B). The advanced technology winglet reduces air resistance and saves fuel by more than 15% compared to its peers in the same class. Seat operation cost can be lessened by 12%. Carbon emission can be reduced by 13% compared with Boeing 737 Next Generation.<br/>
