Taiwan’s EVA Air debuts service in Germany
EVA Air, a Taiwanese airline company has started operating four flights a week from Taipei to Munich in Germany for the first time. The airline will use the Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which will take off from Munich on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays to the Taiwanese metropolis. Munich Airport CEO Jost Lammers said: “We welcome EVA Air as a new star in the Munich sky. EVA Air complements our diverse Asian offering, especially with its excellent transfer connections. The launch of the new operations between Taipei and Munich expands our intercontinental network and is also a positive sign for the continuous recovery of traffic at Munich Airport.” Since 2013, EVA Air has been a member of Star Alliance and currently operates its flights in five other European cities – London, Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna and Milan. The Taiwanese carrier serves 68 destinations across four continents, with its 90 aircraft fleet, of which nearly two-thirds are long-haul jets. Featuring a special ‘Hello Kitty’ livery, its maiden German flight was operated by a Boeing 777.<br/>
