Canadian duct-taped by airline passengers after allegedly trying to open plane door mid-flight

A Canadian man — who had to be restrained with duct tape after allegedly trying to open the door of a plane mid-flight on Tuesday — called himself the “captain” and put a flight attendant in a “semi choke-hold,” according to a report obtained by the National Post. The American Airlines flight was leaving from Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport to Dallas on Nov. 19. Some time after takeoff, the man approached a flight attendant, according to the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Department of Public Safety’s incident report. The flight attendant said she thought the man was going to the bathroom to throw something out. But then, he complimented her on her watch and said he liked her face mask. Then he made a comment about “wanting and needing to exit the aircraft now,” the flight attendant said, per the report. The man was getting increasingly agitated, she said, so she asked for help from her colleagues. She also gestured at some passengers for assistance. Story has more.
Bahrain welcomes British Airways U-turn on flight cancellations

British Airways has reversed a decision to cancel flights to Bahrain, a route it had previously said was no longer commercially viable. Last week, the UK airline announced plans to pull daily flights to Bahrain and Kuwait from its schedule by the end of the first quarter of 2025 due to Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engine issues on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. The move caused an international outcry, angering politicians in the UK, as well as the Bahraini government, who said they had not been consulted before the decision was made. This happened while Bahrain's King Hamad was in the UK being hosted by King Charles III as the Gulf monarch marks his silver jubilee year. In a U-turn on Tuesday night, however, the British flag carrier said it would operate a direct service between London and Bahrain three times a week from the start of the summer season in 2025. Instead of a reduction, this will amount to an increase in daily services from next winter.
