An American Airlines regional jet went down near Ronald Reagan National Airport on Wednesday night following a crash with a military helicopter, prompting a massive search and a ground stop that halted all takeoffs and landings, according to the airport and law enforcement. The PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 collided in midair as it approached the D.C. airport around 9 p.m. local time, according to the FAA. PSA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Fort Worth-based American Airlines, was operating flight 5342 from Wichita, Kansas. The FAA identified the helicopter as a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter. The airplane, a Bombardier CRJ700 can carry about 65 passengers along with crew. American Airlines said there were 60 passengers and four crew members aboard the flight.<br/>
