Air Canada improved its on-time performance in March, getting more passengers to their final destinations on schedule, according to new data from Cirium. The aviation analytics company, sharing its monthly on-time performance report, said Air Canada landed 75.60% of its 32,030 flights on time last month. By comparison, the airline got 59.97% of its 28,022 February flights to their destinations on time. Cirium defines a late flight as one that lands 15 minutes or more past its scheduled arrival time. When compared to the top ten airlines in Canada and the U.S., Air Canada placed eighth on Cirium’s monthly list, just ahead of Frontier Airlines, which landed 74.82% of its 19,885 flights on time. The rankings show Air Canada finishing just behind JetBlue, which landed 77.42% of its 28,090 flights on time to place seventh in the rankings.<br/>

On 12 April 2025, LOT Polish Airlines welcomed its first passengers onboard its inaugural direct flight connecting Warsaw with Reykjavik-Keflavik. To celebrate the launch, an official ceremony took place just before departure, attended by Robert Ludera, LOT's Registered Representative, Director of the LOT Polish Airlines Network Bureau and Dominik Zgieb, Director of Aviation Operations Safety Bureau at Polish Airports. The Polish flag carrier will offer flights four times weekly during the summer (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays) and three times weekly in winter (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays). Outbound flight LO499 from Warsaw to Reykjavik will have a flight duration of 4 hours and 20 minutes, while the return flight LO500 will take approximately 4 hours.<br/>
Austrian Airlines and SAS were the top European carriers for on-time performance (OTP) in March, with both recording a punctuality rate above 90%, according to the latest figures from aviation data firm OAG. Lufthansa Group-owned Austrian Airlines had an OTP of 92% last month, which put it in seventh place globally behind top performers Oman Air (96.4%), Royal Jordanian (94.6%) and Saudi Arabian Airlines (94.1%). SAS was in 10th place overall with an OTP of 91.8% in March while Aer Lingus ranked 15th with a punctuality rate of just under 90%. OAG said that ITA Airways and Iberia were among the carriers to record just a single cancellation during the entire month.<br/>
Air China announced the launch of a direct passenger route between Beijing and Toronto, Canada, starting May 20 this year: Two flights per week, operating on Tuesdays and Saturdays. According to Air China's app, one-way fares start from RMB 6,480 (excluding taxes, about USD 888.6) for Beijing-Toronto, and from RMB 4,640 (excluding taxes, about USD 636) for Toronto-Beijing. As reported by Simple Flying, this marks Air China's return to Toronto after a 33-year hiatus. In 1992, Air China operated the Beijing-Shanghai-Vancouver-Toronto route using a Boeing 747. The relaunch of this route signifies direct competition between Air China and Hainan Airlines on the Beijing-Toronto nonstop route.<br/>
