Singapore expands tracking, ATM plans

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has announced initiatives with both local airlines and the Japanese aviation authorities to improve aircraft traffic management and tracking across the region. CAAS has signed an agreement with the Civil Aviation Bureau of Japan (JCAB), which will enable 2 aviation bodies to jointly promote air traffic management (ATM) improvements across the Asia-Pacific region. They will be able to share information, knowledge and expertise, and will enable collaboration and modernisation of regional ATM capabilities. CAAS says the agreement could help promote a “transformation” of regional ATM capability stemming from improved research, solutions and technologies for the next generation of ATM systems. <br/>
