EgyptAir suspend flights to Khartoum over ‘latest developments’

EgyptAir decided to suspend its current flights scheduled for Sudanese capital, Khartoum over ‘latest developments’. The decisions comes as a result of the ongoing clashes and public rage taking place in the capital, following a violent dispersal for a sit-in by security forces in Khartoum, earlier Monday. The Egyptian flag carrier issued a statement explaining that flight No. MS 855 scheduled to depart from Cairo International Airport to Khartoum International Airport on Monday at 04:00 P.M was canceled, “to the ongoing developments in Sudan”. EgyptAir Integrated Operation Center is following up the situation in Sudan to stay abreast of any developments in the southern neighboring country, the company added in its statement. Earlier, Egypt has called upon Sudanese parties to exercise restraint after nine protesters were killed as a result of the violent dispersal. Egypt urged all parties to return to the negotiating table and dialogue. <br/>
