Passenger arrested for attempting to open plane door mid-air under influence of drugs

Police on Thursday detained a woman in her 20s for attempting to open an emergency door mid-air under the influence of drugs. The 26-year-old was taken into custody by the Incheon International Airport Police Corps after unsuccessfully trying to force open the emergency door of the Korean Air flight traveling from New York to Incheon at 2 a.m. the previous day. The suspect reportedly began to show signs of anxiety about 10 hours into the flight, and attempted to open the emergency exit on multiple occasions, before being restrained by flight attendants. During police investigations, the suspect tested positive for illegal drugs in a simple reagent drug test, and was put under emergency arrest. Police said the woman had entered the country after staying in New York for over six months, and had no record of mental illness. The police requested that the National Forensic Service determine the exact amount and type of drugs involved.<br/>
