Anger boils over at delayed China Southern flight at Auckland Airport

Passengers delayed on a China Southern airlines flight for the second day in a row at Auckland Airport are boiling over with frustration. A passenger said police have been called in to calm the passengers down as the aircraft failed to pass a test which would allow it to fly. Police are yet to respond to a request for comment. Video posted by one of the passenger, Alex Lee, shows an angry mob which appears to be yelling at one of the airline's staffers. Posting on the video, Lee wrote "A mob is activating..its unacceptable...2nd drlay/cancellation in consecutive days" "Plane has not passed the test...Waiting for news...0800 number not answering now....noone advising...really bad," Lee wrote. A later updated posted 2 hours ago said "the police have arrived to monitor the situation". According to Lee, the passengers were told to return to Auckland Airport today for their flight which would depart at 11am. "China Southern Airlines...this is not acceptable!!!! Flight cancelled yesterday told we will fly today...we all came in early again. The departure time has now passed and noone is informing us what is happening," he said. Auckland Airport's departure information shows flight CZ336D was scheduled to leave at 11am but has been delayed to 7pm. Yesterday Lee said the plane had been delayed due to engineering issues. He said they were made to wait for over four hours before being told to come back today.
Delta jet lands, slides into snowy grass at Detroit airport

Amid harsh weather across the Great Lakes region, a Delta flight slid into the grass upon landing at the Detroit Metro Airport on Sunday morning. The plane -- which left from Buffalo, New York -- landed in Detroit around 11:30 a.m. "Delta Flight 724 ... landed and was turning from the runway onto the taxiway when it left the pavement, stopping in the snowy grass," Delta spokesman Anthony Black reportedly said. "The passengers were off-loaded and bused to the terminal about an hour late. All bags were recovered." Sixty-five passengers and five crew members were aboard. No one was injured in the incident. The airline has launched an investigation in to why the plane slid – it wasn’t immediately clear if or how the snow contributed.
