Delta jet lands, slides into snowy grass at Detroit airport

Amid harsh weather across the Great Lakes region, a Delta flight slid into the grass upon landing at the Detroit Metro Airport on Sunday morning. The plane -- which left from Buffalo, New York -- landed in Detroit around 11:30 a.m. "Delta Flight 724 ... landed and was turning from the runway onto the taxiway when it left the pavement, stopping in the snowy grass," Delta spokesman Anthony Black reportedly said. "The passengers were off-loaded and bused to the terminal about an hour late. All bags were recovered." Sixty-five passengers and five crew members were aboard. No one was injured in the incident. The airline has launched an investigation in to why the plane slid – it wasn’t immediately clear if or how the snow contributed.<br/>
